Many Waveforms are available here.

Already packed many of my own single cycles (e.g. done with DNR Wave Designer) into wavetables.
Also checked the import of longer samples which could be interesting but at the moment maybe not as useful as using the single cycles. When using Samples (either the full one or a part) Audio Term could do resyntheis to pack this into 33 single cycles that could be used for wavetable scanning. AFAIK Kriminal has posted demos here uing this feature.
Next step i'll try is to do wveforms in Audio Term "from scratch" whih is possible with an additive like editor, free drawing or a combination of both). Piets previous video seemed to be about this.

Just in case,
Being interested by the idea to create customised wavetables, i just opened a topic on the subject for OSX :

i didnt use Audio Term. I didnt like the resynthesis part, not a fan of that style. I just cut up a massively detuned sample into 2048 parts and used the Synapse Wavetable Editor to creat a WT.
Drawing from scratch is interesting, but im going to wait for Rich to finish his one for any more WT stuff. It should be more complex than it currently is, and thus more useful.

Not really. They're saying that certain synths are more suitable for certain genres. E.g. if you want to have a lot of unison, and you want to have that for supersaw trance sounds, you wouldn't want to use a monophonic analog synth. I don't see anything wrong with saying that.Chris-S wrote:Not worth viewing. They are calling Dune2 a genre-synth only for trance.
It highly depends on the people invited, or doing the tutorials. For example, the guy doing the Cubase tutorial is an absolute expert at what he's doing. Hardly ever watched better tutorials.murnau wrote:musotalk is the biggest crap on earth. i downloaded once their regular german podcast with a few "experts" talking about different music/production related things. after the third episode i gave up: sorry to say that but they are ridiculous.

Could someone confirm this is happening for them also please? I've highlighted what you need to do to test it in blue. It's quite a serious problem with rapid MIDI modulation.Sendy wrote:Potential bug report:
I've noticed something weird. Using modwheel and pitchbend as modulation is very steppy - seems like the value is sampled about 4 times per second and then interpolated. That can give a kinda "squiggly" sound.
Anyone else notice that? Try getting an init patch, then setting pitchbend to 12 and bend up and down rapidly. You'll hear something more like a sample+hold modulation. Try modulating the filter with the modwheel as well. Add a lot of resonance so you can hear what happens.
Note that this isn't a MIDI resolution issue. You can hear it's time-based rather than amount-based.
I've tried the other modulation quality settings and this is unaffected.

This is great indeed. With a cool sample like that in the video you seem to be able to get really interesting results.Krakatau wrote:this is brilliant !!!PietW. wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGQab-NDAOY

I have just started using the Random feature in the waveform editor of Audio Term which generates random partials resulting in random waveforms.
You could limit this to only one phase or use both phases (represented by partials in the editor going up or down). I also did some where i cut out partials starting fro ma certain point (e.g. only keep partials up to No. 25). In most cases it was necessary to normalize the amplitude of the waveforms which is possible in ethe editor ("Tools" button).
This way it is possible to get waveforms you hardly thought about and several results seem to be quite useful. Like in othe cases sometimes the interpolations are the most interesting as those could sound like layers of different sounds.

I just finished a song and used DUNE 2 all over it. Bass, pads, plucks. There was only one pad I had to bounce cause it was a humdinger. It's at the 2nd breakdown. Anyway, it;s tarnce. Written and sung by the hot Lokka Vox:

I thought about a few possible samples for this and found a few famous quotes from e.h. Obama, Neil armstrong and Apollo 13. Samples longer than 5 seconds seem to be unusable for this (impossible to understand anything then) and shorter is better.PietW. wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGQab-NDAOY

The sample resynthesis feature (which creates a wavetable with 33 single cycles from the original sample) seems to be great to do vocoder like sounds. I have created a test pactch for the new DUNE 2 wavetables where i used the Supersaw feature for a bigger sound (no additional internal or external FXs) and the filter envelope as a mod source for wavetable scanning (Attack part to play the wavezable forward and Decay to play it backwards).
Here are 4 audio demos with different wavetables (single instance of DUNE 2 used):
1.) Obama: "Yes We Can":
DUNE 2 - Yes We Can
2.) Apollo 11 (Neil Armstrong): "Eagle has landed":
DUNE 2 - Eagle Has Landed
3.) Apollo 11(Neil Armstrong) : "It's one small step for a man":
DUNE 2 - One Small Step For A Man
4.) Apollo 13: "Houston, we have a problem":
DUNE 2 - Houston We Have A Problem

Hey Ingo, what program do you suggest when we want to make wavetables for Dune 2 etc. For Mac OSX
Thanks in advance

Not really a clue as i never owned a Mac so far...MillerSam wrote:Hey Ingo, what program do you suggest when we want to make wavetables for Dune 2 etc. For Mac OSX

Anyway so far only Audio Term and the Beta tool from Synapse Audio are able to create wavetables in the DUNE 2 format and only Audio Term could import samples in the way posted above.
Best way seems to be to use Audio Term and somehow get your hands on a Windows computer (or Windows on a Mac) to create the wavetables.
Just to get a tool for creating wavetables will not help. You need a tool that could save in the proper (DUNE 2) format. While there seem to be others with the same file extension (*.WT) i don't really think those are compatible.

Just an idea: The own toll of Synapse Audio is in beta stage but maybe the final one will be released for Mac too.MillerSam wrote:Ok thanks Ingo
Anyway i guess it will not include the tons of features included with Audio Term.
