Skip to 38:00 for the good stuff.........and it sounds like very good stuff!
...KORE kind of reborn with keys and more slider & knobs. I would like that very much. I'm not sure if it would be smart to release such a controller for just one softsynth as NI clearly would limit themselves, so I'm guessing it's something to control quite a large part of their synth line (and I still remember a survey among Kore users a few years ago that was indicating in that direction). Arturia have been doing that for quite a while with their Analog Lab Experience whatever instruments, also the new Roland "plug-out" synth points into that direction - or, for effect plug-ins, Softube's Console 1. So, I guess (or hope), it'll be something along these lines that is adressing the synth & keyboard players that have been neglected a bit due to Maschine.

I think it will be a keyboard controller/audio interface with a big 'ol screen, designed with their new synth (which seems pretty major, incorporating a seemingly new type of synthesis as well as sampling) and Maschine in mind.

They downplayed the Maschine software a bit, claiming to not be in direct competition with other DAWs, but I think they've going to keep improving it to the point that it will be a viable option, and sooner rather than later.

And a keyboard controller has so much empty space for DAW controls and features (faders, knobs, transport controls, audio ins and outs in the back, even drum pads), I think it's a natural fit.

...yup, in my hurry I forgot to add, that most likely it will have keys - that's what I actually meant (and that's what that survey I mentioned was about)...

Sadly yes. Probably the biggest mistake NI ever made.
:tu:

NI got a lot of flak for shelving Kore and rightfully so...

That was a great piece of software that many of us had built our soft synths around...

It really was a great central control system...

IT would be nice if they could bring something like that back again...

And not call it "Maschine" :!:
No auto tune...

Another synth released this year? That's what they said didn't they? :D

As I head it, it was something to do with a controller / hybrid analogue / software / hardware / synthesis-mixed-with-sampling type of thing. So I'm not expecting a new Absynth / Massive pure VI. My guess would be Maschine but for their synths (and maybe a new one too) in a few different flavours (with / without keyboard etc). If they got that right - enough knobs to make it as hands-on as a hardware synth - it could be incredibly attractive.

Jrrshop now sold out of K9U I see, so looking likely for September / October release.

I am thinking we will see K10 in late September/ early October I am more interested in seeing what the big update or plug in for this version will be. I am hoping for a new version of Reaktor.

JRR shop doesn't show an upgrade path from Komplete Ultimate 8 to Komplete Ultimate 10.

The only upgrade path that *might* work is the upgrade from "Komplete 2-9" for $649. Though technically I don't own Komplete 8, I own Komplete Ultimate 8.

Even if that works, it wouldn't make me feel great about NI if I had to pay the same price as users of regular Komplete. (None of this is a criticism of JRR Shop in any way. Unless they just failed to put up the option NI made available that would help me. And then they'd get the mildest criticism possible. )

(Not that they owe me anything. But I don't owe them anything, either. Presumably it would be sensible of them to make reasonable efforts to keep my money headed their direction.)

There is no info yet, its not out yet, I wouldnt worry about upgrade pricing at all yet based on what jrrshop has, they are probably just place holders and correlate to nothing

Post

Er.... That's confusing.... Yes jrrshop has Komplete 10 pages up now, but pics and details all seem to be Komplete 9?
