Ah, ok, it doesn't seem to support Omni mode. My understanding is S1 doesn't support polyphonic aftertouch, I was thinking this would somehow work around that, but maybe not.kv331 wrote:Does Studio One allow Omni mode? (i.e. multiple midi channels). If it's filtering the input there's nothing we can do on the SM side
For poly aftertouch multichannel MIDI/channel rotation is NOT necessary at all.

That's odd, why don't they allow that? If I see them at NAMM I'll ask them personally about this

Hi guys, I just uploaded and tested v2.8 Alpha2 on the test server at:
http://www.synthmaster.com:8080/downloadupdates.aspx
This latest version completes our new features for v2.8, next version will be 2.8 Beta, hopefuly 1st week of February.
We have implemented really "longstanding" feature requests, which will be very useful hopefuly:
1. NEW: Added polyphonic aftertouch support
2. NEW: Added multichannel MIDI (channel rotation) support
3. NEW: Added Parameter smoothing for automated parameters
For parameter smoothing, or MIDI CC smoothing, go to the Settings tab and change the settings for:
Midi CC Update
Parameter Update
Have fun!

The Parameter smoothing is to prevent the 'stepped' filter cuttofs when assigned to a knob? works well, but the screen is not reflecting the cutoff/resonance changes. Tested on Ableton and Mainstage.

Yeah I am aware of it. Expect a fix in the next releasewaltercruz wrote:The Parameter smoothing is to prevent the 'stepped' filter cuttofs when assigned to a knob? works well, but the screen is not reflecting the cutoff/resonance changes. Tested on Ableton and Mainstage.

In case you haven't considered it yet, please include an oscilloscope. It would be especially helpful I think for additive synthesis.

Perhaps I'm missing it, but how do we get in on the beta versions? Do we have to contact KV331 directly? The latest version I see for registered users is 2.7. Thanks.

I'm quite glad that Synthmaster is evolving, and ZD filters are welcome, but I'm a bit concerned for the fact that there are no relevant news or mentions about bug fixes. Current 2.7.x version still has many, I also reported some, and I would have liked a lot an update to address them.
But, ok, it seems I'll have to wait for v2.8 which, as software design practice teaches, will surely add bugs beside features.
So, is work being done on 2.7 bugs?
Thanks,
Mario

The only one that I continuously run into is the missing osc waveforms that I have to keep deleting the temp folder in order to get back. I so wish this would be fixed but I've run out of hope on that one.EnGee wrote:Which bugs? Is there a list somewhere?

Ok, some examples:
the 2.7 bug thread - not seeing much support there - http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 7&start=60
A bug I reported, maybe I'm missing something but I think it's a bug: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 8&t=428470
A small FR, never got an answer on this: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 8&t=428385
And there are more. I mostly stopped using SM, because I cannot trust it and its support. I prefer using maybe less powerful instruments, but feel better when I know that if I have a problem I can report it and get almost quick answer and even solution (Cockos, One Small Clue, Rayzoon and others).
When I buy a plugin is to use it for getting some noise, not for doing pointless bug hunting and testing.
I don't mean to be harsh, but I'd take a fixed SM 2.7 over a buggy 2.8, any day.

I just finished implementing new features for SynthMaster. Now that NAMM is over, I'll concentrate on fixing existing bugs so I will take a look at the issues/FRs you reported. v2.8 release date is April 1st week.
Best regards

Another significant bug I've consistently encountered is that whenever I open a saved oscillator preset (wavetable usually), it opens all sine waves and not the waveforms I had saved. This is a big problem IMO because it can be quite time consuming to create a good wavetable set.
Thanks
