Wouldn't it make more sense for Synapse Audio to make a Memorymoog emulation now rather than a P5 one?
Or, even better, make something original again

There's some on ebay shipped from Hong Kong. They seem to work, but I have no idea if they are authentic or clones of some kind.Urs wrote:Anyhow, as long as SSM Chips are hard to get I won't touch a Prophet 5 Rev 2. It seems like Coolaudio (aka Behringer...) is going to make a reissue, and this could change things for me.
Yeah, if we make another emulation we tend towards something that either has never been done before, or at least not often. And for sure we will make something original as wellfluffy_little_something wrote:Wouldn't it make more sense for Synapse Audio to make a Memorymoon emulation now rather than a P5 one? Yes! Think Bazille. Digital osc section with great analog modeled filters. 6-8 voices is fine.fluffy_little_something wrote:Wouldn't it make more sense for Synapse Audio to make a Memorymoog emulation now rather than a P5 one?

I think it's 4-8, and you can chose how many CPU cores to render them on. Turns out, 3 is often more efficient than 4 on a quad core machine.zvenx wrote:Someone mentioned/hinted at it, but I don't see a quote from Urs directly. How much polyphony in Retro-5? 5 as in the original?

I've got two of those. Not sure yet. I bought them for the Cat SRM, if that one goes poof while we measure it.Richard_Synapse wrote:There's some on ebay shipped from Hong Kong. Anyway, whatever emulations you guys (Urs and Richard) would be involved in, I wish you and your partners a good luck

If it can handle a few instances of Repro-1 it will handle Repro-5 just fine. Also, poly sounds can typically live without the HD option...egbert101 wrote:Oh dear. My little 2-core sketch PC isn't going to handle Repro-5. RIP.Urs wrote: I think it's 4-8, and you can chose how many CPU cores to render them on.
