I'll add that i sometimes create a noise/spit? macro to get some grain and a less digital sound, usually at attack stage.
Got the idea after listening to this song (toward the end of the video^^), and it works pretty well"in the mix"

Hey why don't you troublemakers make yourselves useful and create a track using only Rob Papen's Attention and Anechoic Room Simulator.

Great idea, Daru. A noise transient can be very useful with a variety of synths, too.
They can pile up doing OSC tracks so I don't do it as much here, unless there is some sidechaining to make room.
