That has been in the change log since v3.0. It is referring to the software license manager that all AIR plugins now require.

I agree that it is overly dramatic to see that notice on this v3.1 update. Made me do a double check, LOL.

Once you have imported the plugin maps, all of the presets from all of the AIR plugins you have will appear in a single modern preset browser, with tagging and search built in. There are plugin maps available for selected 3rd party plugins as well. But for the AIR stuff is all built in.

For example I find it a lot easier to browse the preset content in Hybrid using VIP, compared to that tiny little menu in Hybrid. In fact all of the AIR plugins seem a bit more usable this way.
Cool. How does one go about getting VIP 3 without purchasing a keyboard?

Thanks, I just found it after poking around a bit. :tu:

You can also buy it here, for example: https://www.thomann.de/de/akai_vip_3.0_standard.htm

TBH, i couldn't figure anything out in it without the manual when i trialed it though... let's just say, it probably takes some time to get used to it. At first glance, i wasn't able to do anything with it.

Just noticed something positive about Hybrid. Unlike Sylenth1, Hive and other synths, the value readouts actually change when changing GUI controls via assigned hardware controls :tu:

The plugin seems decent, good actually.

I imagine the low pricing is to encourage you to upgrade to the bundle for more money.

Oh my god if you don't already own Hybrid 3 then you'd be crazy not to get this wonderful synth for $1.

The only caveat being it requires the iLok E-licenser. But if you've already got it installed or don't have a problem with it then this does become the text book definition of a "no-brainer" deal..... :tu:

It can host plug-ins of any kind. I think the idea isn't bad at all. Usually as musician with a keyboard or a LinnStrument, you would think in terms of sound, not in terms of a specific plug-in synth, which then can load a sound. That simplifies the whole process, you prepare your sounds, and forget about how you created them afterwards. As you can layer them you get the fat with a logical single instance though you might load a bunch of them.

I would add that it is a plugin host that can run standalone, or as a multi-output plugin in a host DAW.

You can create performance multis with keyboard splits and layers using 8 instrument sounds from ANY of your plugin instruments. There are 4 effect sends for each of the 8 instrument slots. In addition are also 4 busses you can route to for submixes. The instrument slots and busses can be routed to your choice of 16 outputs (8 stereo).

The multis can be saved, and even added to a playlist, so you can have one for each song in your performance, with all your presets and control mappings ready to go.

The patch browser lets you browse through all your imported patches from all of your instruments in one window, without having to open each plugin, hunt through for the sound you are looking for, then open the next plugin, and so on, etc.

Yup, I guess $50 is probably too much to ask for that ...
