I find Tera 2 to be very useful. Tera 2, FM7 and Kontakt with SonicStation are the basis of many of my song projects.

There are many great ones out there. The ones that I own and like are Sonik Synth 2/Sampletank 2 XL, Tassman 4, FM7, and sfz+.
