I'd highly recommend all of them.

Start with Subminimal's pseudograin and xoxos' steam.

ANYTHING can be used to make rap as these days rap beats are pretty thrown together. Hip hop id suggest some nice EP's (electric pianos), rhodes..sine basses. jazzy-like stuff. And some dirty drum samples of course.

I don't normally write this type of music as I have no clue about the culture. However, I can't help but be influenced by it.

For instant gratification, try Mysteron and BB303i.

They're free.
