Andrew Bayer Bitcrushed Claps

I really love the sound of these bitcrushed snares/claps that Andrew Bayer sometimes uses. They sound quite wide to me and I assume they are heavily bitcrushed but I can't quite replicate the sound. The bitcrushing sounds really clean and bright to me. I have the Tal bitcrusher but I can't get it to sound as 'clean' as this (Youtube might not be the best representation of just how they sound however)

Can anyone else hear what might be going on here? Or how to get closer to that kind of sound?
