yeah cheers, I went to check these out in a music store last week, great sound, but why the FUDGE are the modulation knobs so damn close together!!!!? HUGE knobs with a 5mm gap between them. Pretty bed design in my opinion. Great sound, and I would have bought already if it weren't for that (what I'd consider) a design flaw... I'd still love to hear a shootout between all of the SEMs.

How's your Dominion one year on? Any new thoughts/feedback?

Great sounding synth, even pre-SED. Good oscillators, filter, nice envelopes… pulse width and FM was sweet (yes, my vocabulary is on holidays sorry)…himalaya wrote:How's your Dominion one year on? Any new thoughts/feedback?
I used it for a little while, I found the knobs and pots were of poor quality (plastic) and many of the knobs slid around on their shafts, so I sent it back. Maybe just my bad luck at the time or the MFB guy was terribly busy, but I found the 'support' was laughable. I would like to own it, but I won't be buying anything else from MFB, unless I'm comfortable I can fix it myself. I was actually told by other MFB owners that the build was awesome compared to their other synths, so yeah, not sure what 'sturdy' means to some people?
Also, not a huge thing (maybe it is for some), but the knobs don't transmit MIDI.
I think you [himalaya] would have a great time with it. In my opinion, the Waldorf Pulse 2 is a much better buy. Not as flexible in some areas, but just my opinion for my workflow and tastes.

Hey! Thanks for the report. I'm in fact lusting after the keys version of Dominion.
However, I've had the pleasure to use the Moog Sub Phatty in a studio a few days ago and I'm seriously thinking about this! Although, what I'd really like is a cool little poly synth, to be honest (to join my other vintage analog poly synths).

Love the faders for ADSR envelopes. This is as it should be.
