have you tried doing a data format request to the shruti?
if it does nrpn, then it should have a sysex format, and
you'd be able to get at those parameters with the full
address. if you get it to send back its data format (into
midi-ox?) that should tell you the order of the bytes,
how many etc.
reckon the minus values are dealt with consecutively with
the positive, or on an adjacent msb?

mztk wrote::clap: nice one, thanks! one more machine remoted-up.
(now hav to figure out how to get that into the remote SL hehe)
Easiest with the Remote SL Editor:
http://global.novationmusic.com/support ... =ReMOTE+SL
http://d19ulaff0trnck.cloudfront.net/si ... r-mac2.dmg
http://d19ulaff0trnck.cloudfront.net/si ... tor-pc.exe
- Select target template 1 on the remote itself.
- In the editor: Configure midi port, open syx, and press the Upload button. ;)
- Press write on the Remote.
- Select the following template position (again, on the Remote itself)
- Upload the 2nd syx file and press the write button.
;)

thanks for run-through.
shame it can't 'learn' sysex strings - or can it? i have a
feeling the atari cubase could, though i never got it to
work, entered everything by hand.

the one on my list to really figure out when i get a bit of time
is the D-110 tone edit - same for the JV1080. the PG-10 wasn't
really that great, and the 1080 looks like it would really benefit
from quick hands-on editing.the mkII has the 1080 already onboard.

I found this in the manual:

Code: Select all

SysEx data format

SysEx messages all share the same format:

0xf0 (SysEx)
0x00 0x21 0x02 (Manufacturer ID for Mutable Instruments)
0x00 0x02 (Product ID for Shruthi)
Command
Argument
Payload
Checksum
0xf7 (End of SysEx)
Command indicates what the receiver should do with the data in the payload block, and argument is a byte that might contain an additional piece of information about what to do with the data.

Payload is a sequence of bytes in nibblized form. For example, the sequence 0x80 0x56 0x13 is transmitted as 0x08 0x00 0x05 0x06 0x01 0x03.

Checksum is equal to the nibblized-sum, modulo 256, of the bytes. In the example above, the checksum is equal to 0x80 + 0x56 + 0x13 = 0xe9 and is transmitted as 0x0e 0x09.
But to get the sysex message from that, for e.g. Modulation source 1 is beyond me. :?

don't like the look of 'command,argument,payload'..

here's a link to some BCR2000 templates for D110/TX81z/E-mu Orbit 9090 v1

(hopefully will end up in Remote map format too..)

yes: simple to get maps on+off via USB.
now, to clear off all the old factory maps..

am getting the hang of how to handle Remote,
with its editor. you can program on the unit
quite easily once you get the hang of it, but
that would be insane with a big synth + sysex.

the editor lets you have a few run-throughs,
mocking up templates - which is very useful,
if you change your mind and have to rebuild.
would be hell without editor. (it's also the
way to manage getting data in/out of unit)

have got the K1 map working :tu:

Hi, please could you share your Remote template for Shruthi-1? Thanks.
