Jx8p strange issues

So Ive had a JX-8p for a while, and rarely used it beyond its presets with a few tweaks on occasion. I have started digging in though recently, and I have noticed a few things. As I switch through presets, the text becomes garbled, the key mode buttons flash in a pattern that doesnt match any behavior Ive seen from it before, and notes stick, or there is no sound produced. It seems to be related to the duration of use/heat. I have googled around, and a few culprits seem to be dead battery and or bad ram. Im thinking its the latter as it begins, happens more frequently after a warm up. Any one else have any ideas? I will open it up this weekend and have a look see

not yet, life interfered with my plans this past weekend. I hope to get into it shortly though.
