quickstart manual for Steps?

Congrats on the new forum! I use steps a lot(it's one of my favorite vst plugs ever) but I'm interested in more information on how to use the buttons along the top marked Measures, Start and Show/Track. I'm not really sure what they do, but I suspect you could make a single sequence that's 64 steps long. I just need to know how to make it cycle through the 4 measures instead of always repeating measure 1. And there could be other features I'm not figuring out.

?? doesn't 'measures' at 4 do it?? looking at the gui, that's what i'd expect.
it's been ~3 years since i built it..
if that's not it and you can't find another method, it might be a dual processor issue. i've had other circuits mysteriously malfunction on dual core.
