midi controller stops transmission...

Hi... Newbie here. My mpk25. Seems to stop transmitting midi after a couple of chords. Sometimes it will let notes hang too. It doesn't seem to do this outside of cantabile. Before I dove into some comparison testing, I thought I would ask if anyone else has had these symptoms. Here's a little information:

Lenovo yoga 11s ultrabook with windows 8.1 64 bit and 4 gigs of ram, 128 gig ssd.

Guitar rig 5 in one rack with halionsonic 2 in the other running 3 channel multi timbral.

NI Audio 6 audio interface.
