I truly think this month has more quality music than any I've been involved with thus far. Great job everyone!! Nice to hear more and more entrys with vocals as time progresses also! My top 10 changed so many times over the last few days, and especially the order of the top 10. In the end, among my top 10 I decided to award slightly higher ratings for vocal songs, because I know how much more effort it takes. Plus, it makes them feel a bit more like songs in many cases.
Any way, blah, blah, blah Here's my top 10!
1. Stop Listen - Fucanay
A real grower. I swear this reminds me of The Monkees. I liked this even more when I read your explanation of the lyrics. I agree! The guitar at the end bothered me at first, but It's period appropriate and it works. This song definitely gets stuck in my head.
2. Grabacab - Xander
A grower also. In the end it just misses #1 by a c-hair. Superior musicianship, production, arrangement, and instrumentation. The vox grew on me over time. Very late night backstreet feel. (if that makes any sense) Only the catchiness of Stop Listen keeps this out of the #1 slot.
3. Herodotus - What it is
Absolutely love the intro (what is that backwards sounding instrument? Guitar?) and the lyrics seem more and more appropriate as the contest moves on.
4. Rockstar Not - What is Vurtstock
Probably the most psychedelic entry of the lot. Great sound, vocals, and instrumentation. Floyd-esque to be sure.
5. Wilkoryte - Hippie Un Jour
Very charming Early Eagles type feel. Nice production. Kudos for singing!!!
6. Bitflipper - The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
Great vocals and guitar. I've never heard the original but it seems like you've done a great job. Only the snare keeps this from placing higher.
7. KVR Rabbit - Col G.
I absolutely love this. You are a genius Mr. G.
8. Born Six Years Later - Ziokiller
I had this as high as #2 a couple of days ago. Great atmosphere and vibe. It actually feels live. Great choice of instruments and sounds.
9. Peaches En Cream - Richiebee
I always dig your stuff and this is no exception!!
10. Coasting - Mark JX8P
That opening synth figure sticks in my head all day long!!
Just missed: (in order)
Peope, Duncan Parsons, Patrick 9, Kantanamen, Beardedone, Markleford, Hovmod, Knockman, Wopelka, Andreas E., Sleek Month. Any of these are top 10 in most months here.
HMs to almost everyone else!! Truly an enjoyable listening month!! Keep it up people!!

Hella tough this month....limiting 24 to 10 is painful, at best...
1. xander - grabacab=Even though Beardedone's drums came to you in a dream , this stuff is hotter than cayenne!
2. beardedone - vurtstock=That trebly synth grabbed me from the beginning...and then it built and morphed. Very Beardedone, but very new...Props!
3. oddbods finger - peace now=Great vibe and production! The lyrics flow with the music perfectly!
4. jens - relax friend = Love the bass and jazzy feel. The guitar soloing reminds me of me. Great vibe and upfront in the tweeters.
5. thomekk - grausamer sommer= Heavenly progression and expression! The slide is ever so nice to the ambience you create here.
6. fakedsitcom - coastmidlife= I love the way this transitions rhythymically! Less drums and more interchange would bring this to fruition.
7. mystahr - believe in the power= Great combo of sounds! I was most impressed by this because of the attention to detail. everything cojives well. Plus you used the spek and spel.
8. Barnadine - ISB?!? Personally, any other month, this would be a top contender, but this month I question its placement. A beautiful track that I cannot ignore.
9. glassback - garden party= This sums it up for me!
10. katanaman - special girl= Loved the way you blended fake with real (and made fun of it at the same time).

oh man, i hate to carve up the love in this breadheaded fashion, conforming as it does to heavy, freedom-crushing hierarchies that pit brother/sister against brother/sister. let us wear our votes, not as symbols of slavery, for that is what those motherfuckers want, but as a message to the pigs "watch out your days are numbered!"
kick out the votes!

You can really tell this month's voting is a monster -- everyones' top tens are all over the place (including mine -- but hey! Why not?)!
1.) Beardedone -- Vurtstock
The awesome engine that is a steam locomotive pulling 20,000 tons of freight makes some astounding noises, anyone of which can be annoying as hell, but, when listened to in total, turn a mechanical cacaphony into a symphony of wonder & theatrical marvel. This songs annoyingly pervasive synth-over struck me as odd until I heard it in its full context. It is vurt painted by Gordon. Excellent.
2.) GuitarJeff -- Crosstown Traffic
Production Effort par excellance. Meticulous production with just enough soilwork to let you know he's indeed a road-wise pro. This isn't the Hendrix Experience, this is Band of Gypsies. If I knew for sure that Jeff could play his axe upside down and left-handed behind his back, I'd believe in reincarnation. Bravo.
3.) emdot_ambient -- On My Way To Vurtstock
A trip into a New Jersey state of mind. A unique, enjoyable effort here.
4.) bitshift -- For Renaisvurt
A great effort and another keeper on the old 'xander Specially protected HD' (where all my extremely important backups are kept) Very enjoyable.
5.) Herodotus -- What it is
I think of rolling along on board the Merry Pranksters' bus with Wavy Gravy & crew, except they've all been replaced by KVR peeps with vurtboxes. Love the lyrics and voice!
6.) Freeztar -- WTF
An obviously earnest effort here with a unique soul. Can't wait to take a hit off his 'Organic' stuff.
7.) Hovmod -- Surfing the rings of Saturn
In 1969, I'd have bought this single for sure. A nice eclectic piece done with talent
8.) Wopelka -- Aquarian Introduction
A beautiful lapse into a rather pleasant melancholy. Wopey's always someone to enjoy and learn from.
9.) Markleford -- Saxdub
Pretty impressive effort and I love that sax.
10.) Katanaman -- Special Girl
Every contest song he's entered has been a nice surprise. He does this again here.
HMs:
Absolutely everyone else, but especially (in no particular order):
Oddbods Finger -- Peace Now
Sleek Month -- Lemme Be
astanine -- Hey Joe
Caco -- Blows
Col.G -- KvR Rabbit
vurt -- vurt and friends
ZioKiller -- born six years later
Kovacs -- I weep
peppy197 - Magnetic Hill
Liqih -- Empire
peope -- Rush 69
Diek -- Believe in the power
UTM -- Aquarium Implosion
Thomekk -- Grausamer Sommer
Cheers,
Alex
