There's some S-Logic surround & binaural 3D panning parts for fellow lovers of 3D sound.
I imagine someone will let me know if I have done these url wrong & I'll edit it to be right.

I made an 80 minute album last year with a friends FL 4.5 setup. Every note is scored by hand with a mouse in the piano roll... now I have a Photon X25 & a 1.8Ghz AMD laptop. There's a LOT of planning out parts & rendering fx tracks animation in there.

So now that I've gotten my hands on the ability to compose in the box again after a year's hiatus I'm looking for feedback on this particular song because I had to compromise due to my PCs limitations so much to make it that I'm excited to see what's possible nowadays.

Hmm I think I've edited this to be an almost direct link.

a very dense piece.
There is a definite cohesion despite the disparate parts and movements.
I appreciated the varying dynamics and enjoyed the sections that were quieter/ rising falling/used cuts. Perhaps some more cuts or dynamics in the noisy/heavy parts? I liked how some of the melodic themes seemed related and connected in the rumbling/noisy sections.

This is really quicksilverstuff: constantly changing, evolving, yet cohesive and evocative. Seems to work on a visceral, musical level yet presses you at times, as well. -make a great sci-fi soundtrack :)

I'm impressed. I would love to see the *.flp with all the parts; none rendered

as for reviews/listens: you might try posting at http://the-auditorium.net/ for a more review intensive site that many regulars here frequent. (free)

thanks again!

Thanks for the advice on using the auditorium, Ouroboros - after lurking around post for a while I attempted to place the song on that site but I couldn't seem to upload. I have no idea why. I will investigate further.

I'd be happy to send you the .flps but it wasn't scored on my PC - the mixing & post-production was done on whatever version of Samplitude I had at the time.
I've never even touched a PC that would consider playing that song due to processor limitations so it's rendered and re-constituted in parts. That's why the levels are so, so hot. Everything had to be compressed in an aethetically unpleasing way because the stereo I used to mix wasn't loud enough to work with low levels inside the programs. A familiar situation to many here, I'm sure.

Either it takes an extraordinarily long time to upload to The Auditorium or I am missing something obvious.

It does take a long time to upload there runagate, so stick at it. Love the piece BTW, on headphones it is swirling about all over the place, and the textures are so thick I could eat 'em. Well done, I am looking forward to hearing more from you.

OK I finally got the direct link to work and edited it in up top.
I don't know what the deal was with the upload - it wouldn't work until today.
I was suspicious that I was doing something wrong but it worked so thanks again.

highly shizophrenic... wouldn't want to have a bad trip on it. ;)

yes, this is freaky and chaotic, but there seems to be a purpose buried somewhere in there. and despite the density, there were definite strands of evolution over time. i'd guess it gets better with repeated listening. i liked it enough to put it on my soundclick collage/avant style station, so hopefully you can get occasional listens from all three people who check the station out...

holocaust. sounds like stream of psychotic consciousness. ;-) i think it took a lot of courage to make this, especially since it's 10 minutes long. muzak for pcp addicts? meshuggah lullaby? nice.
