Yea I did it. HipHop and country. I sampled country artists Gary Stewart (He and My father were longtime pals and my dad played a lot of shows with him, r.i.p. to Gary)
The track is called "An Empty Glass".
Listen til at least the chorus part comes in, a real surprise!
You can find it at http://www.soundclick.com/bombsquadproductions
Please leave some feedback on any of the tracks there.

*shrug* nice try...but...
well, it's no whack sh**
but it reminds me of that nelly song,
sounds like you tried to copy that.
but at least it sounds ok.
i rather stick with bubba sparXXX,
when it comes to this genre..
so, yes in general - i like "bluegrass-HOPpin'"

I saw the thread title and thought I was having a nightmare.....HipHop mixed with Country? My 2 least fav music genres, so I'm the last person who should be offering his opinion. It's kinda ok, I guess, but what do I know? Having said that, it's still way better than anything I've done
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

LMAO at this song being done like a year before Nelly's song even came out. And it's not even close to the same content. Nelly's was about a girl, mines about life.bambooman wrote:*shrug* nice try...but...

didn't meant to turn ya'down...in any way...
just a (honest) razorblade feedback..(the truth may hurt at times)
just telling how it is:
true, the content is different,
but the "dialogue style" is 1:1 like at this nelly,
country-hiphop thingy...
anyone else will notice the obvious similarity to it.

Also, this song represents real life to me because I personally knew the artist Gary Stewart. He used to come over to our house while I was growing up and him and my dad would jam for hours and hours while I sat and listened.
A few years ago he went thru a terrible divorce and lost everything. He ended up committing suicide because of it. So I decided to do the song as sort of a tribute to him (being the only real famous musician I've really known)/and as a way to express how I was feeling about my own life about the same time. This song really means something.
Besides, if your not feeling the whole country/rap thing, I got some more tracks up too.

yep, besides this *similar thingy*
..i like it.. don't worry..
just lost a good friend, not too long ago as well,
(he was making hip hop, as well)
he was just like a little ice cube..talented kid..
but he couldn't deal with life, as a whole..
and bump... he passed at age 24
he always told me "i'll never grow old" etc.
...now i know why

No, don't get me wrong, I can take the criticism, believe me, and I know where your coming from. It just surprised me being compared to nelly cause I can remember being so "pissed" when that song with Tim Mcgraw came out and I already had a country/rap song. I was like damn, he famous and I'm not, so automatically I'm gonna be the one "bitin his style".
It's all good though, and thanks for the replies.
