Greetings KVR members...

This is my first post here so please allow me to humbly introduce "Lullaby"
Image
"Lullaby"
is the project between Mike Carss' ambient project "Altus"" and Geoff Nostrant's moniker "Silvercord".
We have joined forces to create a lush, dreamy and haunting album to drift asleep and explore one's dreams to.
From dream pop openings… to oscillating swirls of esotericism… toward a ambient lament sung in Korean…(any Koreans out there..please forgive my bad accent)
to then deep layers of restful peace mingled with elation and beyond
we truly hope you enjoy our creation we have had the pleasure to collaborate

Here are the links to where you can listen to our album:

Hi Mike, Geoff.

I really adore the music you guys produced. What a collab! I'm an ambient producer / fan myself and many of the tracks made me float away into space. I'm currently in the process of developing a similiar album, with a yet unrevealed title and concept, so here is my 2 cents...

For my Beloved Dreaming
The male vocals should be replaced with a female vocalist for a much more calming, soothing result. Also, the vocoded vocals in the background doesn't fit. But it's a beauty of a lullaby after all. BTW: What is the English word for the baby instrument in the intro? Is it a free sample?

The Twillight Whispers her Name
The best track of them all. Reminds me of Vince Clarke's ambient solo project (Spectrum Persuit Vehicle) breeded with Steve Roach atmosphere. Perfect-ish.

Chan Jang Ka
The production is great. This is the most mellow lullaby in Korean I have every heard (Well, honestly I havn't heard any before  ) so I'm sure Korean children will like it. Personally, I have a hard time with songs in other lanugages than Danish and English, but beside that, it's awesome!

Buoyant Upon Silent Tides
17 minutes of ambiental pleasure. Relaxed, laid-back, with soft pads and... and.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzz zzzzz.
zzzzzzzz zzzz zzz.....
zzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzz.... oh, sorry. Fell a sleep for a while (compliment).

Somewhere You Abide In Serenity
The follow up to the previous track. Similiar in sound. Very dreamy too. 8)

Journeys From The Gravity Of Life and Soaring Unhindered
Both very Steve Roach'ish and very well composed! I love the the 'bird-like' spaced out soundings all the way through 'Soaring...'

:)

Thank you very much to Sounddrops and dburgan. I'm happy you took the time to listen and post
고맙습니다!

Sounnddrops..yeah i wish i had a woman to sing on
the album..sadly..it's just me here in S. Korea
it would be nice to abduct someone to sing for me
(alas its just me..((sigh)).

if i may answer for Mike about the sample in the beginning of the track...Mike recorded an old music box he had...
(when i heard the wav of it i thought it was from a sample CD since it was so crisp and clear...hehe be sure to inquire Mike's secret recording technique for this:)

I am really thankful i had the pleasure to do this album with Mike Carss..(Altus)
If you have not yet heard of Mike's solo works..

As I said in the pm I sent I really dug this collab immensly. there was something about this union that made for a perfect pairing. Between altus laying on the ambient soundscapes and your voice along with the guitar ( I asume you were the finger stringer) that blended so well. I think this release will open the ears of other listeners and hopefully we will be graced with another effort by you two. :)

I think I read something about them recently, might have been in guitar player magazine. I'll do some downloading and check them out. 8)

Hey all! Thanks for the feedback, and I'm really happy to hear everyone is enjoying the album. :)
Working with Geoff was a pleasure and I agree, our styles seemed to meld effortlessly. As long as Geoff's up to it, there's no question we'll create future albums together, although there are a couple of solo albums I want to tackle before another duo.

Everyone, be sure to check out Geoff's music, especially his ambient works which knocked my socks off! (http://www.mp3.com.au/artist.asp?id=10341) Bioluminescence & Symphony of Sighs are my favs. Geoff, please submit your ambient to stillstream.com! You're depriving people of beautiful music. :D
