  1. 1-2-many - Fight // Sounds like.. uh .. Cher? Nah, more like those eastern europe boy band pop groups. Somehow it works for me, and got stuck in my head. The bass + vocals remind me of some electro.. maybe Model 500 Night Drive (Time, Space, Transmat), well done.
  2. Hovmod - Fight to the death // Oh wow, this really takes me back some dozen years. The first part of this track sounds like a mix between Nick Cave and Serious Drinking. Great guitars. Lovely.
  3. Barnadine - Mohandas // Great vocals on this track and the music is just too sweet.
  4. Dunks - Fatility // Quite minimal with some nice beats. I'm a sucker for good sratching so there you go. Well put together.
  5. Liqih - Battle of insectoids at Kitchen Corner // Lovely minimal sounding piece. I like the reverse sounds, and subtle glitchy stuff.
  6. Xander - we got it on // Nice raw-ish voice, yeah I hear some Tom Waits in there. Good work on the guitar and I like the percussion lots, fits well with the track.
  7. gag3 - fight // Ahh, easy listening music, gotta love it! Oh wait... Don't understand what's going on exactly, even when you explain about pot roast and bat hitting etc. Tight guitar and well done fx.
  8. S.HUSH - Kung pow chicken // what's up with that buzz in the guitar. Nice and powerful, great use of vocals. Makes me want to try chop up some wooden planks, zuki zuki zuki! ouch!
  9. Krita Yuga - 2get // sweet track, right up my alley
  10. Thomekk - no more fighting // Sweet voices and well performed. Wish it was a bit longer.
Many many good entries this month and it was hard to pick. So if you're not on the list, I probably still liked your entry and I'm sorry the list is only 10 entries.

p.s.
Farlukar - Itchy & Scratchy // best cover in this contest
Mellotronaut - Cable Clowns // best getting a song I don't particularly like stuck in my head.

p.p.s.
Petru delu damsa - African warriors // I recognize your style as I really like the Insects' World but I had not seen the march results so when I looked into that I see Smithee & Co. was you as well :-)

Carpo diem ergo sum !

Max only grew into a habit.

I was listening again last night and this morning, made a list with comments, but I got some terrible news today and will just vote now: Lack of energy. There was no weak entry this month, imo, but some girls are bigger than others. My top 5 is stable, clowns, 6 to 10 could have been another girl.

1. Birrbits: This is the outburst. Radical, innovative, special and encouraging!
2. Xander: Voice and groove of the month!
3. Sir Hush: Single of the year: Rough diamond!
4. Liqih: Cockroach kitchen invasion: Innovative and inspiring!
5. Thommekk: Charming eurovision-contest-submission with beautiful guitar-playing and side-girl!
6. Fritz Fiedler: The scissor-man's perfection with a frozen smile!
7. Not the common dose: The only techno-track I need. The bundle-spider-web compact overdose!
8. 1-2-Many: Innovative eclecticism!
9. Lady J: Having dinner with 'Tea Party' Great vocalist, btw.
10. Scotthagel: Frightening!

Max and Knockman made smart tracks for wikipedia and satellites,
also some very good heavy tunes and scissor-men-tracks like 'Homer vs. ...', two perfect country fun professionals, four fantastic folk/blues-tracks, some catchy dance-trance-techno-chilly-willies, the clever John Sebastian Goldbaker and pretty good soundtracks.
11. Petru Damsa: Fusion meets world meets Wisconsin
12. ccollinsmith: Remember S&G's 'silent night'..machinegundrumming and sarcasm.

A note to 'Oddbod's: Perfect as usual, but cold as hell..the northpole of our minds. There is a world between 'Life is shit' and this.

Mello

p.s. it was a bass-guitar and it sounds beautiful! Thank you very much again, Maxstoofwlees!

This month's contest has more girlfriends/wives in it than any month I've ever heard! :) Very difficult voting, as usual.

1.) Donkey Tugger - ls7
Production ain't too slick but who needs that? You can tell the old Tuggs just grabbed his axe and went for it with no hesitation -- thus the welcome spontaneity and free-flow of originality!

2.) Patrick9 - Worth Fighting For
A laid-back pro -- way cool production! Love to sit through your set in the local pub mate!

3.) Max el Belga - Fifth Fight
Little Big Man! My favorite movie! Classic sample mash-up and you do them so well - and big points always from me for good production skills :D

4.) DrApostropheX - Spiritual Combat
Very enjoyable and nicely mixed! Love the theme!

5.) Col.G - All We Do Is Fight
Klassic Kol.G! "That was good George..." She sounds so cool! I love the lyrics!

6.) T-Willy - Rainyface
I asked and I received! Great music :) (Can you tell I like well-hammered guitars yet?)

7.) Barnadine - Mohandas!
Imaginative and enjoyable (as usual)! :)

8.) System ERA - Find Her Way
Very sweet effort -- Some big talent happenin up in Kiwi Land -- love the vocals (notice I said "up") ;)

9.) Knockman - Are you showing out
Superb & a classic! Thanks for your permission to use the now famous and undoubtedly ever-lasting phrase - Showing Out!

10.) Hovmod - Fight To The Death
I REALLY like this! Wish you could front up the guitar with a bit cleaner & louder sound during the last 20 seconds there or so, cause the playing is great!

--------------------------

x.) Laguna Rising - Genghis Kang and the dogs of war
All I can say, as I mentioned before, is that I like it ;)

x.) Mellotronaut - Cable clowns
Mello!! Ahh... Nice clean mix! Where is your wonderful voice? I know -- you just can't take these little contests seriously anymore (mi ta comprende). :hihi:

x.) core - Thirst
Cool jam with loads of interesting syncs and grooves! ;)

x.) goldbaker - Dueling 303s
Well, it's a great example of a non-quantised tracker tune! I dig it! Appealing -- like Duelling Banjos (which no one covered!)

x.) Fritz Fiedler - Good Riddance
Political statement 101 -- Really great background music but that guy's voice really sucks!!

x.) funkychickendance -- Fight For Your Rights
You know mate -- if you just took your time... ;)

x.) *insert everyone else here*
Well done ladies! (& your boyfriends too!)
