I got a real wakeman feel from it...very nice :D
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

At first this reminded me of the soundtrack to the old Sega game Ghouls & Ghosts
Definately like the soundtrack to an old silent movie.

I'm sorry...but not for a second do I believe you played/penciled this in any way shape or form.

There's a good reason it sounds like old silent film piano roll speeded up.
....................Don`t blame me for 'The Roots', I just live here. :x

Are you calling me a plagiarist?

Sir?

I think if you do some research you will find that the whole thing is written in the octatonic or 'diminished' scale (also known as one of Messiaen's 'modes of limited transposition') which was in fact not in common use at all during the silent film era.

In fact if you are looking to rip on it, you could point out that it is really pretty damn derivative of Bartok. Not a rip-off, but certainly a pastiche. But Bartok was, of course, completely 'out there' and quite unpopular during the silent film era. His 'sound' didn't really become a part of movie music until Bernard Herrmann made a pastiche of him in the 'Psycho' score. The silent era favored much more MOR stuff like Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and derivatives thereof.

But if you want to think that I ripped it off, go ahead.

And if you ever find the score I ripped off, please let us all know what it is.

I would love to hear it.

Haven't been able to listen to this yet, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying the title. :hihi:
