it turned out nice. i really don't listen to any house and i did this totally out of instinct.
i'd appreciate some feedback form people that listen to house
can't find any hosting now so use this link instead http://www.sendspace.com/file/5y3qrw

I really like this, it has a nice, compact sound with a slightly spooky atmosphere from the typewriter; good juxtaposition! I'm stuck on headphones right now, but I suspect the bass might be a little hard to pick out some systems, and I swear I hear some bass notes clashing sometimes? Like the release is overlapping the next note?
But it's very cool. I would listen to this.

i did a semi mixdown on headphones before i posted this so yeah, the bass might not be that good. and as for the overlapping i think you're right. i had some notes overlapping at one point and thought it sounded cool with that extra rumble or sumfin, but i also think i wanted to fix that and forgot.
thanks for your feedback

down as in slower i think is what polyslax meant. something like this http://195.249.116.158/Visitor_Trax/dum ... nt_320.mp3 or this http://195.249.116.158/Visitor_Trax/dum ... 20kbps.mp3
cheers fellas.
@polyslax. this is also not my genre, but i had a play in reason yestereday and it was so fun i made this. when it was about finished i exported all the tracks, shoved them into live and made some more t6weaks to the sound.
i have 16 bars of a downtempo track i started about 2 weeks ago and i will probabloy finish it sometime soon. i think it's gonna be pretty good.

to me, youre house track, sounds really cool as i said before...i listen to lots of dance (in a very broad sense) 4*4 stuff...(that prolly doesnt make my opinion any better...but here it goes..... i think the typewriter sounds dont fit too good...mainly because the typewriter rhythm sounds too lose...all the track feels tight ... they dont match... the way i see it, it should also be louder in the mix....basicly more quatitized and louder... the vocal gives it a really cool housy touch...
the downtempo stuff is really cool too... it even reminded me of my downtempo , peter kruder (peace orchestra)...in a more minimal way... or even dj vadim for the dark hop moods... wich can only be good.... though tomorrow ill find no resemblances... thc has this kind of things
and why do people (i) keep on doing this "this sounds like this, this sounds like that" kind of thing... beats me...i just do it... references are a way of communication...maybe..

at times the typewriter does feel a bit too lose for the really tight feel of the track but yesterday, when i decided i finished this i was stone and i thoight i was alright. the beat was lock-tight to a grid the typewriter was not so i guessed it was alright.
anyway... i did this track just playing around and didn't pay much attention to anything. it is just the way it came out with just a little help from me.
maybe, sometime when i'm bored i'll look into it, and maybe take it to the next level... and add a trance, gated, choir sample.
