Yo timbo! Can't work out if there is some distortion going on there eg at 32 secs for a bit? Made me think of Miami Vice for some reason though! And 80's porn films. Which can only be good.

Funny..to do the groove I was using an 1980 groove machine..I dug out my Yamaha RX11, and connected via MIDI to my DAW and had DKplus and Utonic going at the same time in eXT. Sure was blast going thru my old patterns I programmed, and using a slider for tempoHunter wrote:Yo timbo! Can't work out if there is some distortion going on there eg at 32 secs for a bit? I think I was getting some distortion from my rym track which was my clean electric and the drums stuff going at the same time, and then captured in exT which was the whole basic of the track..'cause then I brought the capture into Tracktion, added a lead guitar, some Cameleon pads, an M42 lead and UGO's Rez doing that fluty portamento sound. Plus real bass from my newly fixed up Fender music master. The guitar was going thru CamelSpace of course.
I guess I could have redone the rym track with seperate elements, but I liked the performance, so I kept it..but ..is it THAT noticable? I could fad it in later after the distortion part.

cool track tim. i dig the vibe and smooth guitar tones. i agree with hunter that there is a major 80's feel here, but in a good way.

Nice tune.... beginning to end. The Miami Vice analogy is spot on.
I wish it was a misty morning here. Frosty morning is more like it....

I like the pads and FX (nice).
I don't like the drums and there's too much tracks of guitars.
I think however it's a very good work and an interesting piece of music.

yeah..I had lots of guitar..but its only two tracks, and also a bass guitar track..maybe too much fighting! Thanks for your comment. The drums are kinda repeating, but then added a big snare sound when the guitar kicks into overdrive.
The pad was Cameleon from my TC-Elementals bank..shows that cameleon can do non-moving pads..as its a stright low tone kinda pad. The bubbles were done of richard brooks VSC3 clone..but used a knob box to make the modulation stuff by hand. Thats the way to do it, as you can't depend on a patch

If I see a song posted by you,I always stop in for some synthetic juices. But since i'm a mix hound,it's hard on the guillotine for this one. I'm getting horrific over-leveling throughout the song. Gotta pay a little more attention to those levels Tim.
You could create a masterpiece and then find that the over-levels created unrepairable distortion.
I've never used tracktion. Is that difficult to tame as far as levels?

I think it was my original performance in eXT for the rym guitar and percussion. I liked the performance, so I decided to use it. I did hear some little distortions, but thought that maybe it added to it. I guess I should have done the whole thing in Tracktion once I got my ideas, and kept each element seperate for a better mix. Maybe I'll do that...thanks for your comments!
