listening now... first thought: while the synths create a nice spacey atmosphere, hearing them "soar" in and out again and again (and again) is a bit tiring to my ears. I like both the guitar and synth inserts. Ah, now it's developing nicely. Yeah, I like it. Cool sound-effects. Overall, well done synth-improvisation piece.

How were the guitars recorded? Ampsim used? Definetely sounds like a Strat.

A nice mix between good 'ol demo scene music and Mike Oldfield. I like it a lot, thank you.
Extreme attention to details like drums, pads... The guitar's so sweet, I like its "spaceyness" (sp ?)

Nice ! this is a kind of "atmospheric-rock" thing. Excellent choice of synth sounds.
I like the guitar phrasing here.
Well done
Hmm, I can't guess the origin of that name...
Cheers

Thanks for the comments, people! This track took quite some finishing although the basic structures came about relatively quickly around some basic chord progressions I had done and some great guitar soloing by Hovmod (I'll leave it to him to talk about the technical aspects of his guitar recordings). After that there was a long process of adding other parts and trying to find the right mix. It was very fun to do, though. There's not meant to be a real specific influence in it, aside from the music we both like. Considering the synthy/atmospheric qualities of the track with the solo guitar I agree there's some Oldfield/Floyd sound to it but it wasn't intended that way.
About that name... think 80s.

Haha - porn music! ( looking for the yellow pages: ...p...p...p...)
Thanks for listening guys.
The guitar is a PRS with two humbuckers, so any strat-ness must come from either me or the PODxt I used for the sound. It's the "citrus" amp that's supposed to be modelled on an Orange. One of my favourite POD amps, that. Very expressive and dynamic, for a sim - not that my playing is that subtle...
Oldfield and Floyd again? I don't complain about the references, but one day I'm gonna play a solo that doesn't get a single Oldfield or Gilmour comment.
(I'm not REALLY having a tantrum for being mentioned with those guys, that's just to seem cool about it)
Pics or stfu, totc!
The name cracks me up today too.

Well, Monsieurs, to my ears this is no Gilmour-influence, but the tone of the (marvellous) guitar playing is a tiny bit like Oldfield (which I think of as a big compliment, I still love the first records by Oldfield much, and after all, Tubular Bells, not 138, but 1 , was compared to Sibelius).
Very nice synths, very nice guitar, a really nice song.

Mmmmm, the Floyd-influence isn't in the guitar, it's in Marc's synths, but i can assure you, your song is much better than the 80's/90's-Floyd-stuff and has it's own rights beyond the influences. An outstanding instrumental...put it on my new mix-cd this afternoon!
Thank you very spacey!

Thanks very much! To be compared to Pink Floyd and Mike Oldfield... wow...
Our next one will be more original though - we already have a name: 'The Tubular Side Of The Moon'!
