nearly six minutes long! (a new record for me length-wise, at least for something I gave some consideration to, as opposed to something I slapped together)
the download is about 8.5 MB
spectral gorge
WARNING for those with tinnitus: this does have some high-pitched metallic sounds in it
started this last night after reading some Steve Roach interviews
learning how to avoid crackles and EQ out hiss
[edit: updated to remove clipping]

This is not normally something I'd listen to, but it is really quite good... This would be great ambient music for some dungeon-crawl type game or something. It kinda reminds me of 'The Elder Scrolls: Arena'.
A few spots suffer from a bit of distortion though (hard to tell if it was intentional, as it kinda sounds like clipping distortion).
Still a good piece though.

thanks, advaya!
also for mentioning the clipping distortion (unintentional) -- there was indeed some indicated in the waveform
I made some adjustments and updated the file
[although I'm noticing there is still a little distortion, darnit!]

I love that note sequence just before the minute mark amd the one around 1:30.
