OK. True. I kind of did it elsewhere with bandpassed/cut reverb feed, but separating channels makes more sense. Thanks.
Should I still keep them in one bus from other stuff - or is it a mix flavour/school/strategy issue?

id add the fx on the instrument channels then route to one bus for overall volume/compression control.

don't know whether air has been added to the percussive parts or not, but it sounded cool the way it is here.
