hard to pick standouts - bit of a subdued month, nothing grabbed me by the throat - but these were nice:
1. core/five - very múm, very sweet
2. cult of marklefinger/ditto - "oddbod in catchy song pseudonym shocker! (story continues p.6)"
3. zombie queen/markling ford - amiably goofy
4. freeztar/sloppy - slipped me by on first listen, but it's a grower, interesting mood
5. xander/chronic - lots of great sonic details; could have handled a more full-blooded mix - feels a bit boxed-in here
6. wopelka/kvr people - snazzy remix, showcases that groovy horn part
7. monoton/hurry - it's like being slapped around by b&d robots, but sometimes that's what's called for
8. aziraphal/so rekli - great use of background atmospherics, excellent production
9. knockman/algo - shabby white suit, tall stool & a spotlight; slips out of focus briefly around 1:15?
10. me109/1st - as you say, embellishment unnecessary, but if you have to, this is a tasteful way to go about it
of similar calibre:
jer - i have a low tom jones tolerance, so i've never really given this song the time of day, but that verse to chorus transition is pretty fun the way you do it; likeably hammy
s.hush - that martian bit is brilliant
col.g - still sounds like you're using a microphone made from old cereal packets, but man, the passion!
liqih - love the jittery effects, just needs chord variation
nikp, farlukar & laguna - for almost convincing me kc is a worthwhile band
special hm to the man of the hour - i'll never go near a rainbow without protective clothing again.

1). Barnadine - Markleford Is Waiting. Great lyrics and vocals.
The train station/airport background added a lot of appeal.
2). Rockstar_not - Supermarket Shoppa. Great production. You hit the theme perfectly.
3). S. HUSH - Sparklegay. The photo you posted was a funny as the song. I really liked the keyboard
part in the middle. Good bass work too!
4). Xander - Chronic Baby. Another great vocal performance.
The guitar rhythm was fantastic.
5). Wopelka - Kvr People WOMix. The horns and the drums were
very well done. Very catchy this one!
6). Zombie Queen - The Markling Ford. Trumpet solo of the year nomination.
7). Spookyrockstar - Broken. Guess I'm going to have to get
my tonsils out too if I can sing like that. Great vocals. Also really liked the mix.
. Knockman - The Algorithmic Math Jazz Singer.
This melody has a nice 60's feel. You also did a great job on the vocals.
9). Aziraphal - So Rekli. Very nice production. Loved the spanish guitar.
10). Unfocused - Proto-Markleford. Being his brother you could have really stuck it to him, but you did a proper tribute Great mixing and perfect ending.
HM's: Patrick9, niko, thomekk.
Cult of Markleford and Folderol would have made my top 10 if not for the DQ. Folderol, you did a great job with the vocals!
Till we meet again,
Jerry

Markleford :
I guess my entry of a simple fanfare (as would introduce someone important) was too simple in its intent. The melody dates from 1066AD, to indicate "something that has been around a long time" - as you have.
Laura's entry was inverted half way through - so if you turn the score of the piece upside down it appears the same. Something to "reflect" on.
Congrats on five years of creative output.
