Just for the purpose of demoing what Ordinate can do in my clueless hands, here's a few more sounds. This time around, no sequencing or anything, just pure fiddling. In parts, in addition to Ordinate, Muchacha and Muchacho (all by Xoxos), I've used MDSP Fire delay, Ambience reverb and also Novakill KillerGate. The source sounds though are only Xoxos' Ordinate.

well that sinks my evening :p
i've used ordinate several times on another system/host (don't see how it would make a difference..)
just tried it and the third sound didn't work... increasing probability for third channel had an equal chance of producing silence as it did the third sound :p
so.... that goes on the crap pile.
what can i do but apologise. new dev in the next few months should replace it's functionality..
so i guess i have to ask.. did it work predictably for you, or was the output incorrect? oc if it functions on your system like it does here now, you probably don't have much chance of understanding it..
i have no clue why it isn't working.

yap, the source file won't even open. could be a dual core issue.
system i made it on was 1.2g single chip, w98.. this box is dual, xp.
are you using dual core? w98?

Well everything seems to work predictably on this machine, although I'm not sure I've yet completely understood how ordinate works (first time around I mostly played with the random preset generator and tweaked from there!).xoxos wrote:yap, the source file won't even open. could be a dual core issue.

But pushing up the probabability sliders on all three sounds results in a seemingly proportional increase of the number of times the sounds are actually played. (I hope that's clear!)
My machine runs on an AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.01 GhZ, 1,00 Gig Ram, and I run XP Pro SP2.
I'd be happy to help you test it out further, if you want: you can send me a folder containing the three sounds you used and the fxp, and I'll record the result as played by my machine. Just a thought.

that's two "seemed fine to me"s so i'm delegating a repair to sem development.. something better should be available for newer machines in the coming months, so forget about it.
i will
thanks for the interest anyway..

I, for one, am looking forward to it...xoxos wrote:that's two "seemed fine to me"s so i'm delegating a repair to sem development.. something better should be available for newer machines in the coming months, so forget about it.

Meanwhile, I'm still going to use ordinate
