8 Gecko Schmoodoo_Dysfunktional: Haha.....this describes this month's submissions well. Actually, this tune comes across funky in it's own way. Think Edie Brickell jamming with John Frusciante and Chad Smith of the Chili Peps.
8 Zeoy_Of wars and winds: This is a nice funky submission. It has an old funkadelic feel. The vocals come across nice for the verses, however needs a bit more "Soul brother vibration" to it during the chorus (it sounds like Dave Matthews jumped in and did his white boy thang).
6 Oddbod_Gotta be yourself: The chorus is great! The horns fall into place and the vocals come across funky. Unfortunately the verses fail to do the same. The vocals sound a bit restrained and the horns sound..well...."sound fontisized". Overall, I stereotype funk into that "down n dirty-grind my shaft" type of music. This song comes across sounding more of like a Beck tune than a "grind down and lick the nilly on the shiznit type o' hole in yo doobie wonka".
2 Liqih_White: More bounce to the Ounce please..... This could have really come to something interesting had you added vocals and "ZAP-ish" guitars. A bit of production here and there and the polish would leave something funky.
IE: 1. Claps need more OOMPH to give it that "strike" sound Parliament made famous. 2. There are certain parts you have playing for a short duration which come across really funky and work well for the verses (would have made better as a replacement to other less funky parts). Ah well.......
2 1_2 Many_You got funky: Ok, i am just being honest so take it lightly. I find this song really cheesy and cliche. The lyrics and vocal performance are embarrassing.....sorry...just being honest. You sing fine, it's the concept of the vocal work that I am referring to.
The main reason i give this points is the horns (sounds like Kick Ass Brass). Good job on this! I also like the percussion /drumming. Overall, nice attempt.
