So, i tried to make another music with synth bass. This time i'm using monark, a first time for me. Unfortunately my friend said that the mixing is too modern sounding. What would you do if you were given chance to mix this kind of music?

Damn good stuff! Funky as hell I absolutely love the song as a whole. It's actually the Monark itself that bothers me! It's too loud and the mod wheel is way too aggressively used (or this could be the patch itself). - replace it with a female singer and I'm sure you can sell this to Bluey and the rest of Incognito :tu:
I do have Monark myself but I'm yet to use it.

this here is a good example of vintage synth bass.

the song itself is gay, but the mix and sound design is brilliant.

or another classic one would be:

and this vintage bass beast:

but i doubt you will ever achive that dense bottom end with a vst.

Which one is too loud? The bass or the lead? Since both are monark's.

Hmm probably too much modwheel then, i did move it in almost every note. :hihi:

Lead is too dominant and too much. You can't use the lead as a replacement of a singing voice all the time, by the way. Or you have to be really really good.
In fact it's 80% lead -going on and on- and then the rest IMO.
Nice song :)
PS Monark itself sounds incredible IMO

Yeah, don't have anyone to sing on this one. Maybe i should just treat this as a backing track instead and cut most of the lead part.

Lead is too dominant and the sound itself is not expressive enough. Same with the part played. So it becomes boring after a while.

Else, I really enjoyed the rest of the track. Organic sound, yet very smooth, groovy and pleasing. :tu:

Sorry, I didn't realize both the bass and lead was monark. I was talking about the latter :-) The bass if fine.
