thanks for stopping by, Phil

in my Layzersound mixing and mastering, i strive for balance in an immersive natural sounding space. A ying/yang, Goldilocks zone of not too loud, not too quiet, not too bright not too dull...but jussssssst right. :tu: :phones:

Don't listen to Lazer... He trolls everyone that doesn't fit within his tiny musical sphere...

Truth is, if you're trying to make music like that, to compete with other modern EDM tracks, then you're going to have to smash the dynamics up. It's the trend... like it or loathe it.

So keep doing what you are doing. The mix seems fine... But I'm listening on my mac. I also don't make (or listen) to music like that tbh (I'm into Dark DnB). So take what I say with a pinch of salt. Or a shovel full in "Laaaayzers'" case...

Personally, I'd try and get a bit more weight on the kick (a bit of saturation, maybe) and color the synths with some extra parallel processing (chorus/phaser, etc). Nothing drastic... Just to pad them out a wee bit.
he actually says "keep squashing your music... its good." hahahaha idiot. who is the troll? LMAO.

Ah. I had that discussion too once. Audible and ugly distortion in a track from driving the limiter to behave like a waveshaper. Distortion that went away when I turned down the tracks in the mixer to sane levels (each of which was at about +20 dB). But apparently that was wrong and I had no idea of how to produce genre X.

Its great, catchy and has a refreshed 80s sound to it.
But I can rally see this being played at Eurosong tho :)
