Uhm...

Let's get some conversation started folks. I can't believe there's been nothing said about this, yet. Did I post it in the wrong place?

How do you feel about the outcome of the contest? There's a long thread going over at the GPO forum at NorthernSounds about the 'filmic' quality of most of the winning pieces as well as discussion about inclusion of original composition categories in next years contest.

The contest was to show best use of GPO in an original or un-original orchestraton. My feelings are that within the bounds of the contest the winning piece as well the runners up achieved this with great success. The winning piece showed an outstanding command of the programming in GPO as well as, IMO, a great understanding of composition. Regardless of the genre of the piece, Richard Birdsall's 'Knights and Magic' was a splendid example of what can be achieved with the library and was an oustanding composition in its own right.

Lets get some feedback and lets hear your thoughts on the winning entries.
