Probably more like March or April because I sure won't fork out 400 or 500 euros without having read thorough reviews and benchmarks. If the new processor has issues like Phenom I, I don't want it.DJ Warmonger wrote:End of February is still a long time to go , especially since I already have the money.
But maybe something like GeForce 1030 shows up until then, I need cheap GPU for my new PC.
AMD's a-comin!!!... and Intel's been a-dunnin!!

600 dollars or euros is a bit much, I think I will opt for the 1400x which might be 350 or so. I don't really need 8 cores, 4 really fast ones are enough for my needs.

Depends on prices, if performance is sufficient. I plan to spend up to 500 USD for CPU
On the other hand, there's nothing groundbreaking as yet.

was the "hype" ever this convincing before?? Just googling 'Ryzen' spells near-certainty, like PCworlds "looming chip war"
I hope I won't be disappointed or I will never again buy an AMD

Seems AMD will offer Windows 7 support after all:

This might mean that Intel will have to do the same, and this prospect might even force MS itself to add support

I'm mostly just hoping this serves as a kick in the ass for intel. Pretty much already done with AMD gpu / CPU. Maybe the PC I build after the next if AMD can pull it off. I'm still a bit skeptical.

Well, 4 weeks from now the first customers will already be using the new chips and certainly give ample feedback
Not to mention lots of benchmark testing done by IT websites...

Yes, it always is on a new release and can't really blame AMD for the press frenzy that occurs every time a new chip comes out, those mags have to sell copies and sites have to lure the clicks somehow.Debutante wrote:was the "hype" ever this convincing before?? Meanwhile it seems that AMD has officially denied the rumors that they will offer support for W7fluffy_little_something wrote:Seems AMD will offer Windows 7 support after all:

Hehe
I don't think they can postpone the launch anymore without losing face, the new stuff will become available exactly 3 weeks from now...

There are already some leaks about possible prices:
