We have just released a new android app that pushes limits of Android audio latency and timing.

Written in C for best performance, tailored to the actual implementations of the audio system by looking its source code.

Special care was taken to process the touch events as early and with as high priority as possible. The samples are mixed precisely to have a constant latency. (Rather than varying latency touch by touch common in other apps)

It's the best app to keep a steady beat on android - yet.

You can get it from the play store listed as "Heartbeat drum pads"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... rtbeatpads
Or from the official http://heartbeatpads.com website.

Honest reviews in the store and all feedback are highly appreciated.

Have a nice day!

Downloaded and tried it out but have problems with the kick samples as they do not retrigger properly.
Either not at all or not properly... The first two rows work okay.

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

I think this re-triggering problem might have something to do with the fact that I cut the beginning of the sample (to have proper timing) if the event reaches the app too late. This is audible on the kick samples especially..

Stay tuned till the next version! ;)

Hey, thanks! I'm very thankful for your post!

The next version is already in the foundry. I try to focus on stability across devices, then further reducing the latency by a few ms. Of course I'll try to continously add features as well.
