Windows tablet - live loop playback / not editing or creation

Want to use my Windows Tablet as more flexible version of my Alesis drum machine.

The idea is that I would be able to load loops (which were created on in another DAW) and via a midi foot switch (which I could use a midi mapper to transform notes if needed) to control start/stop and play next loop on the software.

It seems like that someone else had a similar need and has already created such a piece of software.
If not I'll probably write a very lightweight application which does this function and post it here, but before I add to the mass of software in the world figured I'd ask if such a thing exists.

Anyone have ideas on how to accomplish?
