Time Signatures

I've had RC for a while but only just getting round to learning the UI.

There's not much in the docs about setting time signatures, so could you clarify that I have this right?

Setting the beats per bar is via the 4/X inspector where you select 2 to 16, but where do you select the note subdivision and where does it easily show the time signature you have decided on?

for example: I want to quickly see I'm in 6/8 or 12/8 or 3/4 where does that show?

Do I need to select the snap or the grid to get the right note division?

For something so critical to music the time signature seems a little confusing to set up and quick reference check to be honest. Or have I got this wrong?

You can set the the 'numerator' only for the time signature, that is the number of notes per bar.
The denominator, whether these are quarter notes, or eighth notes, can be set by the tempo.
Yes, you can also simulate 6/8 by setting snap and grid to 1/8 while having the signature 3/X.
This simplistic approach worked well in the past.

Thanks,
