Zen not populating anything - System exception: Cannot initialize SSL environment.

Hi all,

I like Zen very much, it is a great implementation of an even greater idea. It used to work for me. But after reinstallation it stopped. It starts, detetcts plugins but will not download nor discoveer any presets for them.
The zen log seems fine:

but nothing happens. The presets folder is also empty.

When I run ZenDaemon32.exe I get the error:

System exception: Cannot initialize SSL environment.

And the zend log says:

It looks to me in both cases the httpClient cannot connect.
My firewall is off. I am on Win 8.1. but have the same situation on another Win7 machine.
These are 64 machines but it was the same with 64 Zen progs.

Can anybody help, please?

Does anyone else has that problem too ?
I know that the web hoster was supposed to make some system update some time in August, maybe they broke something.
