Yes these Avast virus messages are getting annoying, every time I open an SE project. I don't think I'll switch though. 3 CK modules and 1 Xoxos now.

Avira was good until V9. The new V10 is a pain. They changed the user reaction window when something is found (you can't select between "ignore", "delete", "deny" any more, instead a system scan starts that freezes for 5 minutes). Also when doing a full scan the prog hangs for 5 minutes at 0%. There are many complaints in their forum about v10.novaflash wrote:hi,
i think to change my antivirus from avast to avira because
after many report and many days they don't have updated their database about
CK_Host_BPM.sep and CK_Polyphony_Control.sep. Avast seems not a serious
company, Avira guys are more reactive, is it a good antivirus ?

i swapped from avast to avira, cos avast was being a hog on cpu.
avira is much lighter, but gives a few more false positives.i just add them to exceptions.

I also notified Avast about Xoxos' volts to degree.sem
& told them that it is a false positive,
but nothing changed with their updates yet,
maybe they'd do something if more people notify it as a false positive to them,
it stops XOXOS' hyperion from taking off
( @Wok : it also stops Blip2000 from working )
it's annoying not to have a "use at your own risk" option ...

?? spybot, adaware, malware bytes, avg ?? i think some of these don't block the use of apps.taotekid wrote: it's annoying not to have a "use at your own risk" option ...
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

I'm using Avast, it gives me a warning everytime I load Hyperion, xoxos wrote:?? spybot, adaware, malware bytes, avg ?? i think some of these don't block the use of apps.taotekid wrote: it's annoying not to have a "use at your own risk" option ...
it says that "volts to degree.sem" is Win32:Malware-gen,
all I can do is move/rename it, deleted it, repair it, put it in quarantine,
or clic the "don't do anything" button, but even if I do,
& it just doesn't let the module load,
then I get 3 windows messages from my XP saying that my hosts FL Studio/Reaper "Can't load Module. 'rl volts to degree'"
I reported it as a false positive again today.
@ Wok : how did you get it to work properly ?

I emailed Avast and got the following reply
Which isn't a surprise but thought I'd post for completion of informationHello,
thank you for sending sample. False positive will be fixed in next VPS update.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

I think the only CK module Avast is reporting now is Host BPM Plus.

I'm downloading Avira now to check out. What I don't like about Avast, is you can't specify exclusions in the general Resident Shield.
I tried loading Hyperion, sure enough, didn't go so well.
