Like I said, its OSX that does it (on non-HFS drives), and yes it is normal. If you've got file extensions hidden on windows you might not see them in explorer (because the filename is all extension, as far as windows is concerned) but Ive seen them in dozens of zipfiles, and I see them pop up on my memory sticks whenever I take stuff to our Macs.

Thanks, I'm on Windows 8.1 and haven't changed anything on my system or in the way I do things.
These prefixes are new to me. If it works, I'm not too concerned.
I thought maybe they got created if Blue wasn't closed prior to the utility operation on the normal files.
