Hi all,
ACE is going to be the next plug-in that we think is ready to be updated:
ACE13Win.zip
ACE13Mac.zip
It contains those more than 100 niggles and bugs fixed since last autumn, we've added 200 new HS Presets (like Diva, with an optional folder to purely browse those), it features the new Scope with options (we have not changed it for "pale" resize... simply because the resize code will change shortly anyway) and the new ModMapper drawing tools. It also features a new "filter reset" function in the circuit bending section.
Please give it a whirl and let us know if anything all too awkward happens
Thanks,
- Urs
P.S.: If you're new to ACE (and also if you aren't), check out our 4-part video introduction to ACE by Dan Worrall:

(I edited my post so I don't confuse anyone) I want to try Howard's new patches, are they in a separate folder? I have not tried ACE in quite a while. I will go through them now.....
I'm using Rev 2373, that is the latest? Patch: HS EMSynthi + DK2: "MUST be played sloppily": this is strangely true!

I guess I didn't need to enter anything. I should be the one blushing. I did not have any problems with OSX 10.6.8. I ran through roughly half of the patch list, tweaked a few knobs. I noticed more nice patches than before. Time for me to sleep..........

The new version has different automation ID's so I've had to remake my Kore 2 template for it - so here it is with several refinements too (eg automation for cables linked to each section)

Hmmm… I've double checked - the automation IDs are exactly the same as ACE 1.2aMUSEd wrote:The new version has different automation ID's so I've had to remake my Kore 2 template for it - so here it is with several refinements too (eg automation for cables linked to each section)

Do you still have a com.u-he.ACE.publicparams.txt around? - I don't think I've disabled this yet, but it has opened more cans of worms than it closed.
(yup, tried again, exact same automatable parameter layout as 1.2)

Strange - when I opened it in Kore the params were way off, I just assumed it was because you added more stuff. Maybe I did something? Do I need that file or not?Urs wrote:Hmmm… I've double checked - the automation IDs are exactly the same as ACE 1.2aMUSEd wrote:The new version has different automation ID's so I've had to remake my Kore 2 template for it - so here it is with several refinements too (eg automation for cables linked to each section)

Actually the AU is working with the old template, it's just the VSTi that isn't.

Just going through these new patches, and all I can say is
Howard, amazing work. Very inspirational!

Forgive my ignorance, I am somewhat new here.
Are these links for ACE the same as the most recent ones in the Beta Thread?
I have already installed the file from the beta (1.3) thread and was wondering if I'm missing anything?
Thanks.

Well, there's not much of a difference, but for release versions we strip some surplus code. I'm not sure whether or not any bugs were fixed. I do remember one though which could cause trouble in one preset. Therefore I'd recommend to simply download and install this versionmodifier wrote:Forgive my ignorance, I am somewhat new here.

This one (revision 2373) also has the final changes in the manual (a paragraph was missing) and cleaned up installers / text files. I think the latest builds versions had Howie's new presets zipped twice, this one has an "Extras" folder with just one zipped directory.
The intrigueing thing about the Latest Builds section is that in a few weeks it'll have an even newer version of ACE. Should we in the meantime create a bug, it'll most likely be found quickly and fixed much faster than any bug that's half a year old, or even older.

The new patches are awesome, thanks for providing those! They didn't install automatically though (OS X 10.9.3), I had to manually copy them into the preset folder (I was upgrading from ACE 1.2). The option to change the skin gamma is very useful, great to have this. The gamma is preserved when reloading the plugin, but the window size is not. Last thing, it would be great to have a window size in between Large and Huge to match the 1920 pixel width a lot of screens have. Instead of adding a new size, you may want to make the Large size larger (same as the Bazille size in Large mode).
