Is there really anything new in digital world which was never existed before?!!

When u look what music tools u have in computer world u see either
1)romplers
2) virtual emulations of old analog synth
3) Digital synth feature similary to analog
I do not have anything against those things because they are good and have their place but i am in shock that digital world offers so infinity possibilities and there was not invented anything really new.
(At list i am not aware of it)
I wonder is Uhe is working on something radically new never existed before but not just modeling or re creation of past gear?!!

I suppose many changes are more evolutionary than revolutionary. That's not to say there aren't any surprises anymore, of course.

I tried it long time ago. But did not find anything which i never saw.Urs wrote:Have you tried Zebra yet?chilly7 wrote:I wonder is Uhe is working on something radically new never existed before but not just modeling or re creation of past gear?!!
But maby i misses something( i guess i need to download a demo again)
But as i remember It is wireless modular of things which existed before.
The only cool thing was that u could draw a wave form by ur self, but beside that i do not remember anything radical. But many i missed something?!

Examples?!Howard wrote:There are plenty. Open your eyes, look around.
P.s. I know a few high end software manufacture like Uhe, Slate Digital, and etc but most of them doing another analog EQ or compressor or tape machine.
As i seid i do not have anything against those things but i am in sock that i did not see anything radically new!!!

Well my socks have holes in , but what with Zebra's spectral effects (and much much more), then Alchemy, Iris, Reaktor, Cycle and a shedload more I could mention, I think you have a few very exciting years ahead of you, catching up with what's new in the digital age. Don't dismiss any of it out of hand because it might have an LFO or an envelope - these are all highly innovative synthesis approaches.

So lets take out the Oscillators, the Amps, the LFOs, the FX, the Filters, all of the existing Synthezis Methods
and lets see what new we can come up with...i am wondering...maybe another Big Bang and new Physics?

The problem is all synths make sound. Boring! We won't see true progress until someone introduces a synth that makes pies, or dogs, or bizarre pie-dog hybrids.

I mean it is are wireless modular of things existed before.Urs wrote:Like what?chilly7 wrote:But as i remember It is wireless modular of things which existed before.
By "things existed before" i mean:
Comressor,Deley, Distortion, Chourus, Reverb, oscilators(Saw,Sine,Tringle etc) and etc.
To have whirlers modular is very good thing.
But do we have in Zebra modules with something radically new?!!

Yes, Reaktor is good example.coincidental wrote:Well my socks have holes in , but what with Zebra's spectral effects (and much much more), then Alchemy, Iris, Reaktor, Cycle and a shedload more I could mention, I think you have a few very exciting years ahead of you, catching up with what's new in the digital age. But unfortionaly it is mostly used to creat something which was existed before.
