Opto/vari compression thesis?

For my own sake and fun I am thinking about emulating strictly opto (vactrol or optocell) or varimu compressor inside Reaktor. Where would I found some papers/thesis on math concepts behind either one of the models?

Edit: I must point out I am familiar with basic concepts of compression and I've made compressors before, so I am searching for more geeky and tech heavy papers, not some general articles on opto compression (I've seen them all )
