Well, jeez... This is a tough one. This has blown my mind... But not really in a good way. I mean I know, I know... It's just cookie cutter bull shit, but how drained of ideas, or how dumb, or how bad do you have to feel to get a song out that you just stop and call THIS acceptable? http://youtube.com/watch?v=e-U1lj57pv8
What is this rubbish!?! First this flute line doesn't even fit the song, second, it almost sounds like it was ripped from something else and the artist could transpose the rhythm right as there are odd out of place rests on the melody. It's like the artists is a child trying to prove he knows something that he clearly doesn't, think of, rhythmic rests suddenly makes him a music theory pro...
Did I mention how f**king out of place this flute is for the song? And maybe it's just me, I did only listen to it on my phone, but it seems obnoxiously loud in the mix too! It doesn't sound glued to the mix, it's like some just started playing some random music on top of another track.
The worst part is, of you expand the "description" to the song on the YouTube page, there are "dj endorsements" or whatever and... People actually like this!?!
I'm gonna say.... Yeah, this might blasphemy, but I'm gonna say it...
I think this sound is worse that Rebecca Black's Friday.
And the difference here is that this guy didn't have daddy pay for a studio so his little girl can be a star - No! This guy is signed! For this!?! Why!?!
Credit where is due, I would have found this garbage if it wasn't for YEAHDubz - a very hilarious producer who I found through the thread "funniest producer I have ever watched" (or something along those lines, I don't remember the thread title perfectly)

Oh let them be ProDJoosahs dominating BeatPort. We all know that's a different trade than composer / musician

Every genre has its cheese. EDM is no different.
To be honest though this could have been done 20 years ago. Sometimes I think that in certain continental European countries EDM has not changed much since the mid 90's. "Producer" after "Producer" banging out tune after tune, billions of kick drums thumping in unison. I know these guys are Australian but this is 100% the sound of euro cheese. The mould has spread far and wide across the globe and if the Mars One project is a success maybe one of the European astronauts will bring their cheesey itune collection and even then Mars will be lost.

It sounds like a typical DJ record to me. Take note of a few beats the crowd responds to. Then crudely glue the beats together one section after another. Pick a few "epic" riffs and throw them on top of the beats.
Of course, you need a gimmick to make the record stand out so they have a flute playing the "epic" riffs. Since these guys are masters of the obvious, they called the track "Flute." No doubt their follow up smash hit will be called "Cello."
