I had no idea too, I used to think Ska was Reggae.

But it's all good.

Never saw a Ska song go down bad on a good Reggae night.

Bob Marley and Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer were in a Ska band first of all weren't they, I think.

Pretty sure they were. Even they thought Ska was Reggae.

I was going to add a +1 for Police and Thieves, but this Zappa track is a classic.
Or anything that Bullwackie produced, his stuff is king.

Just make the music that you enjoy (failing that go for a walk, watch some porn, have a fight with a random bloke until something else happens).

Song of blood by Linton Kwesi Johnson does it for me

I think "best Reggae song" is not a good way to ask. Best is subjective, so I'll give my favorite. Also, asking for a songs only precludes all that good stuff from King Tubby, etc. where there is no vocal, so maybe change the thread title to not just include songs?

For me my favorite is a cover of an old 60s song done by the Hotshots in the 70s:

Its a bit like house and techno, I guess.

One is more funky and laidback, the other more uptempo and in-yer-face :D

That's my choice too. I've listened to that song hundreds of times over the years, and I never get tired of it.
