Not going to disagree there but there are still plenty of artists around who demonstrate their love of playing when they perform live and, while this example may not exactly be what Spaceman is asking for, some are constantly drawing from the tradition.

Musical forms rarely die but they generally do have to coexist with the ever expanding family. And who would have it otherwise?
