I don't know if it is listenable abroad, but there's this great ambient/experimental show that's been running once a week now for 25 years on Finland's national broadcasting company's radio stations. Called Avaruusromua, "Space debris", it's available here http://areena.yle.fi/1-1256664 and here http://yle.fi/aihe/ohjelma/avaruusromua
I used to listen to it often when I was young as it's one of three shows in a segment called the Moods night, with the two other shows being about jazz and world music. Also had a reggae show once a month until the presenter died in the early 2000s, it was what brought my attention to the Moods night back in the day ..
The most recent show is a obligatory christmas special, but still for few days there's also a themed show about Frank Herbert's Dune series: http://areena.yle.fi/1-3066250?autoplay=true Actually they're doing a show tonight.
They occasionally have some interviews, and even without interviews, there's always some interesting talk about the music and the themes they do, with some background info about each show on their website. It's in finnish of course, so the talk isn't much use for most of you. If it's not available outside of Finland then that's too bad, but at least to remind the finns around here that it's a worthwhile show to listen to ..
If it's not available, here's the playlist for the Dune special (also about Euroracks) to give you an idea of what it's about:
RICHARD PINHAS: Duncan Idaho (Chronolyse)
RICHARD PINHAS: Sur Le Theme De Bene Gesserit I (Chronolyse)
RICHARD PINHAS: Sur Le Theme De Bene Gesserit IV (Chronolyse)
RICHARD PINHAS: Sur Le Theme De Bene Gesserit VII (Chronolyse)
FRANK BENKHO: The Witness (The Revelation According to Frank Benkho)
FRANK BENKHO: Under the Sands of Pisagua (The Revelation According to Frank Benkho)
POLIGONO HINDU ASTRAL: Miles de Millones de Anos (00110010)
POLIGONO HINDU ASTRAL: Aguas Subterraneas (00110010)
POLIGONO HINDU ASTRAL: 51o18'15" (00110010)
MIRT: Afrikanische Völker (Vanishing Land)
MIRT: f**k Modern Electronics (Vanishing Land)
edit: ha, found their 25 year anniversary TV spectacle on Youtube (there's a good performance at 55 minutes by a man called Esa Kotilainen):

Well ras,s , i`m sure your intentions are to enlighten us to this weekly show, but unfortunately you haven`t given any of the important information...like the name of the YLE channel/station name that runs the weekly show called Avaruusromussa. (The net YLE stations seem to be regionally based.)
I don`t read the language so I can`t look for that information myself. If I knew that name I could find the internet address for the audio stream and post it here along with the time the show is aired.
Be a lamb and get the info for us?

Yeah well those links should be the place to listen to the show on the Internet. There's always the last five shows available. If you can't see big play icons scattered around the page, it probably doesn't work abroad. Anyways, the channel is YLE Radio 1 and the show's on on sundays at 10.05 pm (GMT+2). Two places to try and listen to the channel live are here and here.
The show finished two hours ago, featuring only finnish ambient releases from this year. Must say I like good radio shows -- no need to go out and try to find interesting music, there's some specialist picking up the stuff and talking about it.

Me and my space cat were glued to the screen the whole time. Despite no subtitles, I enjoyed all the familiar music and fantastic video graphics!
I felt like this show knew who I am...or was. Avant-garde and experimental electronic music are not very usual these days here in America like they once were. I felt like this show was giving me a hug and I felt more alive.
The level and style of artistic video mixing is never seen here. What a shame. I haven`t seen anything like that since Zbigniew Rybczyński.
I did see some more streaming video on the Avaruusromua site. I`ll be wanting more.
Thanks for sharing that with us ras.s

Something that's well worth sticking in your bookmarks - Bluehell's nord modular livestream. I probably click on it 3 to 4 times a week and listen to it for at last half hour or so - sometimes there's real magic coming out the monitors.

Sorry - I did post without reading the op.. I just happened to be enjoying it last night whilst perusing the forum. I never actually went to the other pages on the noodle radio site - I presumed it was live! I guess it was live at some point and now it streams previous 'shows' constantly (because it's always there when I click it).annode wrote:Great...thanks for the link.do_androids_dream wrote:Something that's well worth sticking in your bookmarks - Bluehell's nord modular livestream. FWIW: I think that a lot of people like streams so since the OP doesn't want to maintain the list of streams I've started to update a list in the third or fourth post of this thread.do_androids_dream wrote:Sorry - I did post without reading the op.. It's common that people don't read the first part of a thread, and in any case, I'm always looking for good sources for new/interesting ambient stuff.

Look...the topic title is very clear, that`s what ppl read before they decide to come in here. There is no confusion.FWIW: I think that a lot of people like streams so since the OP doesn't want to maintain the list of streams I've started to update a list in the third or fourth post of this thread.

Secondly, there are a shit load of ambient auto-streams, any idiot can find them...the same is NOT true for live w/host weekly ambient shows. They are NOT easy to find. If you want to start your own thread be my guest, but don`t change the theme of mine...period.

I think that you missed what I was saying, you must be new to KVR. It's very typical that after a thread gets past the first page that people just don't read the first page. Further, they also don't read the title very clearly.
As I told you on page one, you don't actually have the kind of control over a thread that you seem to think that you have. It's not really "your" thread, per se. Certainly, each post belongs to each individual contributor. People will post ambient streams simply because they want to participate. Getting bent at me won't change that.
You're certainly not going to get very far calling other people idiots. Sure, it's not hard to find streams, but the point is finding streams that are interesting requires human judgement. It's your choice not to maintain a list, but you really don't get to tell other people not to edit their own posts.
Sorry man, you seem too angry for such a simple thing. I warned you on the first page that getting angry at people probably wouldn't give you the outcome that you want. Go take a look at threads where people get angry, you're basically inviting others to derail your thread.
