And you got no problem with the price of the item now then do you

The price is right?

Post

a tenner for a record ? seems reasonable

Thank you for the link, I bought the cassette edition right away! It will look good with my other newly released electronic music cassettes. :)

Ho-hum, cassette version already out of stock, good for you that got ordered one while they lasted. Those will fetch a lot of money second hand later

But when it comes to the Music, this will be Richard's tribute to all things Cheetah, like the MS-6

At just below 34 minutes, it is quite a long EP, if he could've been arsed to add another track, he could have sold it as an album...

Even as old skool as issuing flyers and sending it to actual record shops (are they still around? :o )

Not sure about the 'feature set'.... I remember reading some pretty exaggerated explanations of his sound sources in the past.... one can just listen to the music and take it for what it sounds like, not what it's 'specs' are.... LOL - music specs....

this is true. especially when it comes to artists like RDJ. that being said, if you make your own music, you cannot help but be aware of the technical issues and info. it's a bit like movies using CG, you can't help but wonder how is it done etc...
my only problem with RDJ is he often times will make the technical aspect more important than structures, harmony , when he does so, i love it : )
windowlicker is a great example of the good stuff. half the tracks in Syro are not..

I'm not sure I get the retro appeal of cassette tapes, weren't they always rubbish?

8-tracks on other hand, the label my old band was signed to somehow managed to do an 8-track only release!

Mind you, there were figures in the news a few weeks ago claiming that 40% of people of vinyl buyers never actually play their records. On BBC 6Music they even had a soundbite from some fella claiming he only buys records to look cool... oh dear.

I'm wondering if he's releasing a VST with the album.

It depends on the quality of the player and cassette you listen to:

Most of the tapes I have sounds really good on my sound system, but I have a quality tape deck and amp.

Metal tapes are excellent.

And remember that anytime some of the 70s band do reissues, they dig up the old master tapes and use them as source.

So even though listened to on CD or 24 bit WAV, it is the tape we are listening to as that is the source.

And no 24 bit remastering can ever hide the fact if the quality of those original tapes are crap

Records are the new t-shirts :hihi:

If you have nasty DC offset,
tape fixes it absolutely unreal.
Also gain to saturation is an interesting effect. Of course, no clipping possible.
I like cassette tapes' vibe, and my deck.
Why are the counters not in secs though? hmmphr

Because you do care,I-- hi newt pax

I have to listen to the new stuff more before I make comment

I have a Cheetah MS6 too, it's such a cool analog/digital cross up with the PC editor
and 6 DCOs

That's the secret, most people remember cassettes sounding awful because they mainly played them on cheap walkmans, boomboxes, car stereos etc. Though I think the quality of the cassettes themselves varied greatly. I can think of certain major label tapes that always seemed to sound bad.
