Some of these really do sound like Serum
I guess that's because they are Serum presets

Have anyone used Air Loom? I could grab it for 12€ and I though it'd be nice for ambiences and pads.

Post

for 12 euros it's a no brainer.

worth it just for the randomiser button.

I made two tracks with it so far. Great for ambience and FX for sure, also makes weird basses. However, it's not easy to use and is limited to 6-note polyphony :v

Grabbed it. Seems like I'll be making some psymbient this weekend :hyper:

Played with it some more. This is definitely the best 12€ I've spent.. Fun and easy to make your own presets but that random button.. It's heck of a fun

Another fun randomizer synth is Enzyme.

Found yesterday a nice dulcimer loop I made last summer. Then I made this ^^

Just got a copy of Loom with my new Code 61. Seems to very digital and thin sounding synth, tbh I'm not quite sure I'll find a use for it - it may be good for weird effects and drones but I can get this kind of stuff elsewhere. Other Air synth which comes with Code 61 - Hybrid - is much more insteresting, seems to be one of those oldschool Virus inspired synths (like Albino etc), which failed to actually nail the Virus big fat sound but still have some appeal on their own. Smooth, warm and well balanced sound, works great for backrgoung pads and some synth stuff supproting the main leads. I've already used one of the pad presets, somehow tweaked, in one of my WIP tracks.

Too each his own, right?

Why would you need Hybrid 3 for Virus-inspired sounds if you already own Virus? :P I find Loom interesting because it is very different from synths I had so far, even very different from Harmor. Can do stuff no other synth can and inspires new ideas.

Didn't use either for psy yet, though.

I would unlikely buy Hybrid separately but since it comes free with my midi-keyboard, why not to use it? It is always easier to drop a native VSTi on a track for some background sound than wait the Virus engine to load. ;)

Maybe I should try to dig deeper into Loom but I don't quite know where to start and for what kinds of sounds it should be better than my other synths. Ofc, psytrance is all about experimentation but the experiments should lead to some useable results.

Anyway, I got it for free as well, so nothing to lose

Thanks for the info, really dig the synths here.

Some really fat bass here! Would you share this preset?

And leads are just as colourful as I would expect from these synths  In common psy they are really heavily distorted and inharmonic.

Aaaaand here you go https://www.dropbox.com/s/bu1vwxdep0qvn ... r.fxp?dl=0 :)

Nothing special there really. Then I had LFO tool and EQ after Serum. EQ settings were: cut from 30hz and 8dB notch at around 235(?)hz.

Enjoying this thread! Just curious @Lejurai, what synths do you use in Reason (particularly for bass)?
