Who likes Eat Static? I do, and the Implant album is one of my favourites.
I'm looking for recommendations of similar music which is in the same vein, quite chilled, spacey and hypnotic - but not too full of psy-trance or new age cliches.
This is a good example of the thing I'm looking for:

psy and a tad 'new-age' is kinda inevitable with this area of music i'm afraid...
üNN ?
Ultrabass ? (R.I.P Peter) ...although his stuff does get a bit new age and quite 'Deep Forest' worldy, it's one of my all-time favourites in this area of music.
revisit the early psychill GoaHead Psychedlic Chill compillations and the like?
Chill Tribe Records has a lot of stuff up this alley, though a good 10 years after it.
Merv was kinda at the forefront of music, so yeah... still is really!
but there's quite a bit of this kinda music out there, egads, I've been listening to it all for over 20 years Psytrance (Goatrance) really kinda died in my view, in the late 90s... many of the good artists evolved into either more chilled or more downtempo areas... creating a lot of unique bends... Merv still covers ALL areas. He's a flippin cool dude, and a huge influence on many of us.

Check out Green Beats, I think their music strictly fits the classic definition of psychill while still being diverse enough

If you like the second track you may also check out the whole VA

Liquid Stranger makes some interesting dub-influenced stuff

Androcell is worth checking out as well is you don't mind some occasional dubstep and glitch sounds.

Also Phutureprimitive's Subconscious album has really great mysterious/darkish overall atmosphere except for the few too trancey monents in some of the tracks.
