Hi, I'm after a Clavinet VSTi or Sample Library,
So far I've found these
http://www.uvisoundsource.com/keys-and- ... ucts_id/32 (works with UVI Workstation, I have Ilok and already use this software) 39 USD
or
http://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/emul ... cts_id/254 (Works with free Proteus VX which I already have installed) 39 USD
or finally
http://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=showproduct&b=29 (a physically modelled VSTi) 49 EUR, more expensive than the first 2!
But I have also just bought Kontakt 4, has this got a good Clavinet patch? (I wonder)
So samples or synth for this instrument, or check out Kontakt when it arrives?
Thanks in advance!

Die Funky Maschine ZD6 is really good. I bought that one last year.
It has a good amount of options too.
Don't have the other ones though, but did listen to the demos of them.
I'd say the best clavinet sample is the one found in Logic or GB that's mac only of course.
You can get pretty close with some synths too. I did this in Zebra.

Some nice playing there, I will probably get some GSI stuff, waiting for a Group Buy or Sale, they had one not long back, I'd pick up 2 or 3 of their plugins if they have one...Mr Ray MKIII, VB3(maybe), ZD6 Die Funky Machine...mcnoone wrote:Die Funky Maschine ZD6 is really good. Can't work out if multi-velocity sampled instruments or PM'ed is a better way to go for this type of instrument, I want realism for this, I do like the lower sounds of the Clavinet more...
I own U-he Ace but not Zebra, but do have a few other VA's like Prophet V2, Jupiter 8V2, Predator, Ultra Analog, OP-X/OP-X Pro, Minimonsta. Didn't realise a VA could emulate a clavinet as close as your snippet .

Not exactly a clavinet, but you can't miss this (free) RMI Rocksichord:

Check the rest of the freebies too.
The best clavinet you can find (check the bundle with the rest of the EPs):

Oh yes!, I forgot that K4 comes with the old "Electric Pianos" library. You probably won't need to buy the Scarbee one.

What kind of Clav are you looking for? If your looking for the 80's clav - that was a synth, and it's easy to find. But if you want the real thing, something like Scrabee is what you need.

Pianoteq has a Clavinet add-on and you can frack it up real good since it's a modelled one.

If you're a registered Reason user you can download the "Electromechanical 2" refill free from the Props site. Contains samples of a Hohner D6 clav, two Wurli EPs, two Rhodes EPs, Hohner Pianet T, and Hammond A organ. The D6 gives you patches for each of the mic settings so you can choose from four two-mic combinations for various sounds.

The K4 clav from the Elektrik Piano is ok, but my vote is for the Eletromechanical stuff. The patches are not mic positions, but the two D6 pickups in phase or out of phase.Meffy wrote:If you're a registered Reason user you can download the "Electromechanical 2" refill free from the Props site. Here's a good thread from last year about the clavinet plugins.

Now I feel a right dimwit!standalone wrote:Oh yes!, I forgot that K4 comes with the old "Electric Pianos" library. You probably won't need to buy the Scarbee one.
Why you may ask?
Because I already own N.I. Elektrik Piano, I've only used it once for the rhodes samples, completely forgot or didn't realise it has a Clavinet set, I've also got the K4 crossgrade on it's way - so will be selling my EP and use the EP set in Kontakt, so I'm all set then sample wise already
Although it's nice to know it's a rated VSTi for Clav...
So I'll check it out again next time I go on my studio, but I'm also going to check all the suggestions on the PM stuff and compare the sound/playability,
many thanks for all the other suggestions too, now going back through the thread to read it all!
I feel like a complete donut!
