Hi have a BIN and CUE file from and old Akai Sample CD and I want to read it with any plugin or wav player but i've already tried everything and nothing worked. I've already tryed CDXtract on Windows but it doesnt read this bin file, I've already tryed mounting with Daemon and ISO Magic but they dont mount it (and Kontakt cant read it even trying read directly from the Daemon non-mounted file but nothing is showing on kontakt browser), i've already tried to convert this bin files to kontakt files on Chicken System Translator Free and Extreme Converter but it doesnt read this bin either and I tryed installing the Myriad Demo for my Mac and it needs OS X 10.10 (my one is 10.8 and i'm afraid updating and start to have problem with my softwares). WHAT ELSE I CAN TRY?????? THIS AKAI IMAGE FILE HAS TONS OF OLD GOOD STUFF THAT I NEED
Isn't there any other new software for this?? I have both PC and Mac
THANKS!!

You need a program like PowerISO to open BIN / CUE files:

I have managed to open AKAI CD's I have converted to ISO's in Kontakt
Didn't need bin or cue, just put the Kontakt browser towards the ISO file to bring out the goodness.

I've used daemon tools to mount the bin/cue and then used kontakt to access the samples via the virtual drive.

Did you make the ISO yourself from the CD ?--SYNTH-- wrote:My kontakt is not reading the file.... :/

Kontakt should be able to open the device and not the file. Do you have show foreign formats enabled in the VIEW menu?--SYNTH-- wrote:My kontakt is not reading the file.... :/

Mounting it also depends on file system support. Is the CD in ISO9660 format or in Akai format? If it is in Akai format, you might need to actually write it to a CD-R and then read THAT with Kontakt.

been a while but bin/cue files if I recall were an alternate to pure ISO files, as in an image you could burn to CD for replication etc. SO it sounds like you'll need to burn it to actually read it.
imgburn - www.imgburn.com is the software I use most regularly and I'm 99% sure it should be able to "burn" these onto a DVD so they become readable. You may also be able to burn it straight to an ISO which most current OS's now can open natively. Worth a shot, as it's freeware, and capable of doing a lot of things that the commercial apps do.

Thanks for all the help guys (this forum rocks as always) but unfortunatly nothing worked.
Answering everybody:
1) I've already tryed Daemon and didnt read the image
2) My old friend made 2 bin images from 2 very old Akai CDs and cant find him anymore
3) Power ISO didnt read the image either (any softwares reads it...not even CDXtract)
4) Yes, they are Akai Format. So my last choice is burn it to CD first so Kontakt can read it BUT BUT BUT MY LAPTOPS DONT HAVE CD READER/BURNER
So my only choice is to buy a real CD Burner??? hhahahaha

no guarantees as I can't test it, but...
program called gburner lets you convert bin to iso - so you can then view the iso with a compression program like 7zip or winrar..
30 day trial which should be plenty of time to see if it does the trick..

oh and if you really get stuck, how big are the files?
thinking if you could dropbox them and I give it a red hot go to convert.. ?
